Chill Day At Blue Pools
I was born and raised in central Texas, so murky, green, man-made lakes are what we consider "beautiful"... Then I came to New Zealand, and my whole life changed. I have never seen water so beautiful in my life; everywhere. The water is so tremendously clear, you could see straight to the bottom. Even if the bottom is 20 meters from the surface.
This was an awesome day, spent with awesome people. We had a late start to the day, and we didn't actually end up doing much hiking past the bridge, but I wouldn't change a thing about this day... (except for maybe the fact that I did an unintentional belly flop haha)
Many of my friends here in New Zealand have told me that I've changed a lot since I've come to New Zealand, specifically that I've calmed down a lot. I didn't really know what this meant for the longest time, but I think I've figured it out. The culture in America is so rushed, everything needs to be done in a timely manner, and everything needs to be on schedule. This is a day that we didn't worry about the time, nor anything else for that matter. We took our time, enjoyed each other's company, and jumped off some stuff. This was me becoming kiwi-ized.
Oh and I did an unintentional belly flop into the water and almost died...
Here are the resulting bruises..
